This design is my response to the beautiful embroidered coats on show at the costume museum in Kalamata. The striking patterns are hand stitched in metallic thread onto velvet with extraordinary precision. I have borrowed the idea of a continuous linear design that loops and and curls into spirals and fantastical frogging.
This shawl makes a real impact with purple, cream and yellow curlicues printed onto a black ground, speckled with purple spots. It bears my signature nestled within the border design.
