This silk scarf is one of a Limited Edition of 50 hand printed to order in our London studio. It comes presented gift wrapped in a black and gold embossed box with a numbered signed card certifying provenance.
I designed this bandana for a Country & Western party I held many years ago. The main border is a rendering of the stitching design that is often to be found on the toes of cowboy boots and the central spots are reminiscent of old-fashioned pocket handkerchiefs.
The making of this exclusive piece involves a process known as discharge printing where the black background colour is printed with a special dyestuff which takes away the black and replaces it with colour. The design is first hand painted, after which come screen-making, dyeing, printing, washing and finishing.
The bandana shown here is printed in red and white on a black ground with hemmed edges and a printed signature.
