I pulled various ideas together for the Farmer Christmas greetings card. I love the stark graphic imagery of ploughed fields in winter and wanted to do something incorporating that. I was also looking at the fabulous illuminated manuscripts of the 'Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry'. They feature rural scenes of ploughing and hoeing and hunting – and there is often something humorous going on in the background. I initially had a farmer on the plough, but then thought it would be more Christmassy (and a bit silly) to have Father Christmas instead.
These collectable cards are high quality reproductions of my original hand painted artwork. Look carefully and you can spot the christmas lights decorating the tractor. Printed in the UK on lovely cream card, they are blank inside so they can be used year round if you wish.
